Day Wise Plan

Hemkund Sahib Trek Day 01: Arrive at Delhi

Meet on arrival at airport transfer to hotel. Take rest and make yourself prepared for Hemkund Sahib Trek.

Day 02: New Delhi – Haridwar/Rishikesh by fast train.

Evening visit Parmarth ashram for Aarti ceremony. The hundreds of lamps float in the River Ganges at the end of AARTI ceremony carrying the brightness of devotion and this experience is simply incredible to witness and be part of its happening.

Day 03: Haridwar – Joshimath (245 Kms/8-9 hrs)

Early morning drive to Joshimath via Deoprayag. On the way visit Deoprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. As you move higher up, the scenery subtly changes from very lush hillsides covered with rice terraces, to slightly barren mountainous countryside beyond Srinagar. The final few kilometers of the journey goes through a nice hairpin mountain road starting from the Vishnu Prayag.

Day 04: Joshimath – Govindghat (22 Kms/1 hrs) – Ghangaria (14 Kms/3-4 hrs)

Today drive to Govindghat, the starting point of the trek. From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria. Upon arrival at Ghangaria, check into hotel. Explore the surroundings in the evening which include the great Himalayan Mountains and peaks.

Day 05: Ghangaria – Valley Of Flowers – Ghangaria (5 Kms one side/4-5 hrs)

After breakfast trek to Valley of Flowers (3858 m) from Ghangaria. The valley is an enchanting sight with an impressive array of rare wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh marigold, Prinula, Potentilla, Geum, Asters, Lilium, Ranunculus, Corydalis, Inula, Braham Kamal, Campanula, Pedicularis, Arisaema, Morina, Impatiens, Bistorta, Ligularia, Anaphalis, Saxifrages, Sibbaldia, Thermo- psis, Trollius, Codonopsis, Dactylorhiza, Cypripedium, Str- awberry, Epilobium, Rhododendrons and numerous others. Most of the flowers have medicinal values too. The valley is 10 Kms long, 2 Kms wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. After enjoying the beauty of valley trek back to Ghangaria.

Day 06: Ghangaria- Hemkund-Ghangaria

Day trek to Hemkund Sahib (4329 m) from Ghangaria. This is quite a steep climb. In the Sikh holy book- “The Granth Sahib”, the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh recounts that in a previous life, he meditated on the shores of a lake surrounded by seven snowcapped mountains now recognized by Hemkund. Late afternoon, trek back to Ghangaria.

Day 07: Ghangaria – Govind Ghat (trek 5-6 hrs.) – Joshimath (drive)

After breakfast trek down and reach Govind Ghat, and from here drive to Joshimath.

Day 08: Joshimath – Rishikesh

Early morning drive to Haridwar after breakfast. On the way visit Rudraprayag where river Mandakini and Alaknanda meet. Lunch is taken on the way and reach Rishikesh by evening.

Day 09: Rishikesh- Haridwar TRAIN- Delhi

The journey to Delhi is covered by train and on arrival Delhi station and transfer to hotel. Day free in Delhi

Day 10:

Fly Home, we will drop you to the international airport for your flight back home.
