Day visit 2nd world war cemetery, state museum & angami tribe khonoma village.
Drive to Mokokchung (120 kms). Visit Tsiminyu village of the Rengma tribe, Longsa village of Lotha tribe at Wokha.
After breakfast drive to Mon (260 kms/ 7hrs.) Mon – at 897 metres above sea level, Mon is the home of the Konyak nagas. Hereditary chiefs known as Anghs rule the konyak and the institutions of Anghship prevail only to the konyak naga tribe. See tattooed faces, wearing featured head gears and war traditional dresses.
Visit Longwa village (57 kms), this village is between international boundary of India and Myanmar with half of the Angh’s houses falling within India and the remainder in Burma. Enroute we visit tang village. Also visit Shengha Chingnyu village.
Drive to Dibrugarh (180 kms) visit the taj-ahom museum of Sivasagar of the ahom period. Evening visit local tea plantation and factory
Digboi (80 kms), first oil town of south Asia. Visit the famous oil museum. Namphake village is largest Thaiphake village, boasting 70 odd families, which trace their ancestry to Thai race. The Namphake Buddhist monastery is the oldest here.
Drive to Neematighat, Jorhat (130 kms/ 4 ½ hrs) for ferry crossing (1 hrs downstream boat cruise) to Majuli – the largest inhabited river island in the world is famous for Vaishnavite monasteries and culture. (not between Jun to Sep)
After breakfast ferry crossing on Brahmaputra & then drive to Kaziranga (190 kms/ 4 hrs). Kaziranga national park is a world heritage site, houses more than 75% of the world’s great Indian one horned rhinoceros. (Open 01 nov to 30 april)
Morning one more safari into jungle and drive to Guwahati (220 kms / 4.3 hrs) & connect flight to Delhi or Kolkata or Mumbai and onward flight.
