Day Wise Plan

Day 01 Beijing – Lhasa – Tsedang

Flight from Beijing to Lhasa airport, upon arrival, group will be met and welcomed by our Tibetan Guides and transferred to Tsedang (approx 100km) , 3425m, two hours driving, en-route group will visit Mingdroling Monastery. Check in hotel. The balance time will be at leisure for altitude short acclimatization. Fall in love with the nature of Tibet – tour to India.

Day 02 Tsedang

Full day sightseeing in Tsedang city
Breakfast at Tsedang Hotel
Visit the first Tibetan Palace, Yongbu Lhakang and one of the oldest Temple, Tandruk. Both are dating back to the first king archaeologists have suggested that the foundation are as old as 2000 years.

Day 03 Tsedang – Lhasa

Today you will drive to Lhasa, 200km, en-route visit Samye Monastery. 5-6hrs. It was the first monastery built in Tibet and was instrumental in the establishment of Buddhism in Tibet. There are older temples in Tibet (such as the Jokhang)but monks were neither trained nor ordained at these temples. the temple was completed in 779 by the renowned Indian Buddhist scholar, Shantaraksita. He also became Samye’s first abbot. PM: Cross the Bramhaputra River and drive to Lhasa. En-route some stops at villages.

Day 04 Lhasa

First on your list will be the Potala Palace, the palace of dalai Lama, the seat of both religion and politics till 1959 in Tibet. it was built in the seventh century as a fort and later renovated by the fifth dalai lama in the seventeenth century to its present specification. Afternoon visit sera monastery, which was founded in 1419.the most distinguished and interesting here is monk’s daily debating session.

Day 05 Lhasa

Visit Sangyal Dun Ku (thousand Buddha’s cliff),it was built in 14th century by Duren Pandits. It is said the poor citizens of Lhasa, who can not afford to invite redeem Thangkha Buddha to release the soul of dead from purgatory, usually buy some dyes to re-paint the stone Buddha statue, to achieve the same effect as that of redeem Thangkha Buddha. Such custom has been passed down till today. So every day morning, thousands of people come here for prostration to the Buddha’s. Later walk around the potala palace with local pilgrims .afternoon, visit Jokhang Temple and Barkhor bazaar, the heart of the old Tibetan town, here you will enjoy fascinating combination of deep religiosity and shove market economics.

Day 06 Lhasa – Gyantse

Drive to the city of Gyantse (4102m) – 265km, 6-7 hours driving, en-route group will visit Yamdruk Lake, 4408m. It is one of the four holiest lakes in Tibet on the top of Kangpa La passs,4794m, you may view the large snow-capped mt. Nyinchen Kangsang(7191m),continue driving cross Karola Pass(5050m).upon arrival in gyantse, check in hotel,after lunch, visit the Gyantse Kumbum Stupa and Paichu Monastery. Gyantse Kumbum was built in 13th century. And is essentially a great multi-chapel stupa with an interior of amazing little shrines that you can visit the Paichu Monastery is in fact the entire monastic complex at Gyantse, within which the kumbum located. it was built during 13th century.

Day 07 Gyantse – Shigatse

Today you will drive to the city of Shigaste, 90km. 2hrs.3968m. The capital of Tsang area, also it is second largest town in Tibet. 90km, 2 hours, en route visit Shalu Temple. Upon arrival, check in hotel, then we will visit Tashilunphu Monastery. It was built in 1447; this is the official seat of Panchen lama, second in importance only to dalai lama. the particular interest in the monastery is the nine-foot statue of the Buddha of future. After the temple, visit the free market and overlook the Dzong Castle

Day 08 Shigatse–Shegar

Drive 240 km to Shegar, 5-6hrs. Passing Lhatse county and Gyaltso La pass(5222m),

Day 09 Shegar-Zhangmu

Today you will drive 240km to the boader of Tibet & Nepal, zhangmu county ,6-7hrs. First drive 60kmto the old tingri which is the best place for view for himalayan range, if weather permitted, we may also see some of highest peaks in the world including m.t everest. Enroute . Continue across the lalung la pass(5050m), one of another peaks abv 8000m m.t shishapangma can be visiible. Check in zhangmu hotel.

Day 10 Zhangmu – Kathmandu

Drive down to the friendship bridge, 8 km. 40 minutes drive. After finish the Chinese immigration post, then group will exit Tibet/ Nepal border.
